In March two large HBB TOT courses were held. The Haitian Pediatric Society partnered with LDSC to teach 46 participants in PAP. A second course was held with the help of the Catholic Health Initiative in the newly built Hopital la Providence in Gonaives. Sixty six participants were taught from many regions of Artibonite. Both courses utilized mostly in-country facilitators, the product of previous courses. Over 35 training kits were distributed to the participants after details perpetuation plans were developed. Three hundred bag/masks and penguin suctions were distributed. The Catholic Health Initiative developed a training lab in Hopital La Providence and will conduct follow up in the coming months to evaluate the teaching process and skill retention there and in their clinic in Gros Morne.
